Rose LaBarbera is a Multidisciplinary Artist with projects spanning from Photography, Ceramics, Painting, Drawing, Theatre Production, Costume Design, Filmmaking, and Music Production. In an effort to strengthen her artistic skills, she earned her BFA from Alfred University, with a major in Art & Design and a minor in Music. She has a strong portfolio of fine arts and makeup arts, including special effects makeup as a highlight of her repertoire.
Her senior BFA thesis and exhibition, "Uprooted", showcased all these skills in a short film as well as a live performance exhibition in early May of 2026. Please see the "Uprooted" page for more information.
She was born in the Bronx, NY, and grew up in Cold Spring, NY. She is currently based in Yorktown Heights, NY, and is looking to work freelance around NYC/NJ.
She took part in PNW BOCES’ Cosmetology program from 2020 to 2022. After physical and written exams, she earned her NYS Cosmetology License in 2022. Along with her license, she also received her Prosthetic SFX Makeup Certification at New York Makeup Academy in 2021.
In terms of academics, Rose is a very passionate student. She graduated as an honors scholar at Alfred University and was a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Organization. She exercised her leadership skills in her role of Resident Assistant at Alfred University’s Residence Life. She was also an employee at Alfred University’s Costume Shop, where she designed costumes for local productions.
In terms of music, she was part of Alfred University’s Popular Music Ensemble, where she took on the roles of singer, drummer, and bassist. Courses related to music she has taken include Music Theory, Western music history, Songwriting & Composition, History of Rock music, musical theatre production class, beginner and advanced voice lessons, and piano I & II.
